The north-east wind from miles 6-8.5 were really cold, otherwise the run was rather nice.  My toes even held up well in my Vibrams and socks.  I will need to get some of the wool socks shortly if it gets much colder.

Are you enjoying the VFFs?

From Chad Robinson on Wed, Oct 27, 2010 at 11:31:43 from 67.136.62.186

Yeah, I have been running in them exclusively since the TOU half. I switched to a mid/forefoot striker late spring but there has still been a trasition period getting used to the VFF's. I have had some blisters and various foot/ankle pains (minor) but so far so good. They are definately good conversation starters with strangers in public.

I ran in them quite a bit last year. I liked them - even did TOU half in them. But, by 18 miles, my legs were thrashed... I should run in them more, but when I wore toe socks with them (injinji), my feet immediately hurt.

I wore the socks with them from day 2. I felt I had to sinch them up tight without socks and got blisters on the side of each foot after a 4 mile run. Love the socks.

great run. you are brave to run in VFFs in this weather. i am going to have to try out these socks...

allie - Yeah, I was a little nervous about it considering you don't get the shared warmth for your toes with the Vibrams (and my feet get cold easy). It will be a wait and see to how cold I can handle with the warmer socks. I really dislike the treadmill. Thanks, for the comment, I am shooting for 54 miles this week.
